Various types of models:
There are different types of surveying levels.
for example automatic levels, dumpy levels and tilting levels.
All levels have a telescope on top with a cross hair or gun sight. The difference between the three levels is how they can be adjusted to give us a horizontal line. Obviously accuracy and precision is important however the degree of precision depends on the type of work.
For alot of constuction work done on building sites. Low accuracy , short range levelling is sufficent for the work involved.
For engineering surveys automatic levels with higher accuracy may be used.
Laser levels:
These days laser levels are often used in construction for there high degree of accuracy and precision. A laser level is a level combining a spirit level with a laser to display an accurate horizontal or vertical line. Alot of laser levels are inexpensive to buy. www.levelsforwork.com has a great selection of used laser levels. The are great for D.I.Y
